Today I found these at Walgreens! It’s the new limited edition palettes from Wet N Wild, “Pop Art Craze” collection. I love me some Wet N Wild eye shadows! Yes, I personally have believed since as long as I can remember, “Wet N Wild” is a weird name for a cosmetics brand, but oh, do they do some things right. As in, eye shadow! So anyways, this collection appears to be big, bold brights with a matte texture. Although some belie a bit of sheen in the packaging, upon swatching they all read MATTE to me! All of the colors have good payoff, and at $1.99 on sale, you can’t get more bang for you buck. I hope to have some purple shadow comparisons in the future, as well as a bright eye look.
Avon Mega Effects mascara promises “24-hour phenomenal lashes. Clump-proof, sweat-proof, non-flaking and non-smudging” lashes. Does it live up to the hype?
I have to say, this is pretty good mascara. I was sold on the cool gadgetry of the applicator, but I was expecting to be disappointed because I have high expectations when it comes to mascara. I usually stick to my Cover Girl Lash Blast because I like that it thickens without clumping and it doesn’t flake onto my under eye area at work. The Mega Effects mascara passes the test!
This mascara is unusual in that the applicator is different from any other I have seen.
The mascara is smooth and dark, and I would call it a lengthening formula, unlike Lash Blast, which is a more thickening formula.
Although the applicator is different, it isn’t hard to use, and I find it makes it easier for me to coat the fine lashes towards the inside of my eyes, and the curlier lashes on the outside.
The final photos are before and after.
All in all, I like it. I have used it several days in a row and I will continue to use it for lengthening eyelash looks.
I got some MAC eyelashes and they totally live up to the hype. These are way better made than my Ardell or NYX lashes, and they are seemingly made of human hair. They are nice and thick with natural looking, thicker sections and an invisible band which makes them so easy to apply. Although MAC lashes are more expensive than drugstore lashes, I believe they are worth it because they are so much better made and last several wearings.
I purchased these for $16 at the MAC counter and they are also available online here.
